Photoshop Superstar (web/graphic design)

Web Designer / Motion Graphics

Area: Longwood, FL (Orlando)
Class: Full Time

Contact Name: Carl Satterwhite
Contact Email: csatterwhite at firstmarketinggroup dot com
Contact Phone: 407-788-7070 x222

Description:

First Marketing Group Int’l is looking for a full time Web Designer to join our Internet Marketing Department in Longwood, FL. Competitive pay, 401(k), benefits.

-----------------------------------------------------------

The right candidate will be a Photoshop Superstar, proficient in both Illustrator and Dreamweaver as well. Strong HTML, CSS and any Flash or After Effects is a huge plus.

A degree in a web/graphic design related field is a plus but not required for the right candidate with the right portfolio.

You MUST have an online portfolio to show or have links to websites you have built to be considered for this job.

We are looking for a team player that likes to have fun while working in a fast paced environment.

If you are not a web designer but indeed a Photoshop Pimp and think you can learn on the fly. Send me some stuff to look at.

Please forward all resumes and portfolio link to csatterwhite at firstmarketinggroup dot com

God that's a painful hybrid of corporate whoring/marketeer speech and attempts to be down to earth...

Ooops should be nicer didn't realise the job was for 401k that's dollars right? $401,000 dollars per annum for a web designer? Fuck me I'm in the wrong business

Actually we are a pretty down to earth group. Young and full of talent. An amazing opportunity for the right person with the right attitude. Not sure how you define or really care what you meant by corporate whoring but if posting a legitimate job offer in a forum where designers hang out is corporate whoring then I guess you are right.

Thanks for being an example to everyone the type of person we are not looking for.

Couldn't ask for a better reply... Good luck to you.

Just to clarify. You're offering 401k per annum?

401(k) is a type of employer-sponsored retirement plan. Sorry for the confusion. Salary will be negotiated accordingly.

Good luck finding someone, coldfused. Don't mind them, they're just being facetious.

Yeah, you crazy Brits.

It's a retirement account where you contribute a certain amount every month and generally your employer matches a certain percentage of your contribution. Then the 401K company will invest your money as you request - from aggressive investing (mostly stock market) to conservative investments like government bonds and such.

For example, I contribute 7% of my income to my 401K. My employer matches up to 3%, so my total monthly contribution is 10% of my income. Then, I get quarterly reports on how well my money's doing.

With a moderately aggressive portfolio, I made $50 last quarter...woohoo. Lost $30 the quarter before that. Fucking stock market.

That reminds me, I should roll my old state-funded retirement account from my last job into a Roth IRA...

What's up with earning a set salary and then using a percentage of that money at the casino/track/dogs once a month?
Investment companies are a load of toss.

I was referring to the very corporate language "must be teamplayer" "fast pace environment" just sounds so painfully contrived, or so very copy and paste from thousands of very corporate companies. I have a blunt negative opinion of such tone of voice, but I found it interesting you had as you said some more down to earth speech mixed in.

Wasn't meaning to sound so offensive, but it just sounded very inconsistent, photoshop pimp/marketing speech.

I'm not an example of someone you wouldn't want to employ at all, I'm not a web designer though, just a humble designer. I'm hard working and work in a nightmarishly "fast paced" workplace and work well with other people, but I wasn't looking for a job, so I gave my honest opinion of that sort of language.

Good luck finding someone though.

At the end of the day we need a team player that can be productive in a fast paced environment. Coporate it might be but thats the gig. Maybe the reason you got the mixed signals from my post is because I am a young, corporate, creative, professional all wrapped up into one. Doesn't seem possible for most I guess but I tend to be pretty well rounded.

At the same time I say words like "Photoshop Pimp", "Superstar" because that's who I am. And yes it drives the old folk around here crazy

Power to the young, smart, creative people who drive the future of our industry...

---------------------------------------------

(ps) Still looking to fill the spot if anyone knows anyone send them on this way.

Thanks,
Carl

Yea but dunno is there not a more natural way of saying it? I think its the exact wording that reads like scraping nails on a blackboard or something Hmm but I'm tired and cant think of a better way of saying it right now, so I guess I'll be humble and let you off
