Everyone gets nervous when going to interviews and interviewers understand that. However, if you get really nervous, a good tip that I was told about once is that if you get so nervous that it affects the way that you behave and maybe the way you speak (stuttering/repeating yourself) - tell the interviewers up front that you're really nervous. It's supposed to help clear the air and make you somewhat more relaxed and less nervous, because you know that the interviewers realise that you are very nervous. |

It doesnt really affect the way I speak as such - more what I say. I come out realise loads of things I missed out telling them and I could have put things in a different way etc. If I was more relaxed then these things would just come easy - I had an interview a couple of months back for my current job - it was more just a chat - we sat down and just had a laugh and chatted, thats cool and I got the job. Its when I have to stick the old suit on and its all formal sat accross from them that I get it. ..................

(not that you seem dense or anything!) anyway, good luck with the interview, and i hope you get the job *prole's disclaimer* - prole accepts no responsibility for people that use this information and do not get the job 8) ps when they say "do you have any questions", never ask about pay as the first question! wait til they start discussing it. everything was great til i got here

[quote:7703911dca="oli"]Its when I have to stick the old suit on and its all formal sat accross from them that I get it.[/quote:7703911dca] just in case... if it makes you feel 'stiff' try to look at it from a different point of view. A suit is kind of a 'uniform' for business - but not only... if you think about it, there is plenty of other occasions where suits make an [i:7703911dca]appearance[/i:7703911dca]. People react in a different way to a person dressed in a suit - the dress adds to your presence! Makes you feel more important. Therefor: try to be aware of the fact that the suit already does part of the 'talking' for you Oh - and remember your body language - try not to cross your arms... some people notice that... ...
