You will need the following expertise and experience

At least 5 years commercial Java Programming experience, Programming experience in JSP, XML, SQL. Linux and apache suite – Spring framework
Knowledge of database architecture and design with the ability to interpret requirements and technical specifications
Ability to code software according to published standards and design guidelines.
Very flexible attitude, ability to perform under pressure. A commitment to quality and a thorough approach to the work. Ability to work well within a team and mentor
The Job

The role will report to the System Development Manager with main responsibility for writing and coding individual programs for specific requirements. Typical day to day operations will involve:

Gather and interpret business requirements and technical specification documents in face to face meetings with internal clients.

Create and document use cases and framework code.
Perform coding and provide guidance to junior co-workers.

Investigate, analyze and document reported defects, perform maintenance programming and correction as identified

Create and maintain technical documentation using defined technical documentation templates.

Critical to the position is the ability to adapt and ‘think on your feet’ with a wide experience base of e-Commerce systems and corporate web based data presentation systems. Candidates should demonstrate willingness and the ability to upgrade the team through knowledge transfer.
