The Butchers
|
Wassup all. First off, I hope this went into the right section. Right, I'm OG Mike, originator, lead MC, and lead producer of a group called 'The Butchers'. We make Hip Hop music on a professional level but unfortunately we are unsigned to a record label at the moment, but hopefully it shouldn't be too soon. We've been producing UK Hip Hop for about 10 months so far but have recently (about 3 months ago), actually started putting our tracks to the test, by distributing as much as possible, and believe me; the results have been extremely good. The peeps, 'the fans' love the stuff, and I'm not blowing my own trumpet here. Anyway... straight to the point, we NEED a website designer to do a website for us, with finishing results as close as possible to a professional design. We are looking for someone with determination for wanting to perfect their design, just as we perfect every track we make. You can check out our latest tracks here: The Butchers SoundClick I will supply you with our Main Logo, and detailed information on what we need on the site, the rest, is up to you. One last thing, we hope you can understand that this is a free job, as we are still unsigned and cannot afford to pay for a professional company to design a website. Here are the benefits though: 1. We will gain many viewers and so you and your design capabilities will be advertised to anyone who visits our site, making a name for yourself. 2. We will also advertise you where necessary, (for example, as a website designer, we count you in as part of The Butchers, and so where The Butchers are advertised, so are you and the website. 3. If we do eventually get signed, we can guarantee that you will receive a fair payment depending on how much money that we make. 4. If you agree to, you will most likely stay as our web designer for years to come, and if we do get signed, we will be taking you along for the ride, and so you will receive frequent payment. We are loyal towards everyone who rides with us, and do not worry, if you were in with us from the start, we wont be kicking you out. 5. Depending on how successful we are, and IF we become successful in the UK Hip Hop music industry, we will most likely fund professional website design training and courses where we see fit for you to improve upon your website design skills. We do hope that someone will join us, and please note, that within The Butchers, we like to keep very friendly and informal communication between us and anyone in working in co-operation with us. It doesn't matter where you come from, as we will be keeping in contact through email, just as long as you can speak English of course. If anyone’s interested! Please post back here... OR... email us HERE And we'll take it from there!! OG Mike (The Butchers). |

Ye, I'm not asking for professional work here. Its good practise for a designer, I hope you will all see it that way anyway. I'm sure there is someone out there who is willing to have a go. AND, if we do make it, and we have looked at every aspect of the UK Music Industry right now, and done much research, and the chances are looking good, and the pay-off for the designer would be massive! You have to make a name for yourself, and this is your oppertunity, we are making and giving away music for FREE at the moment, that's why we can't pay. Trust me, over the next few months, we are doing hundreds of submitions to specific record labels and with what research we have done, combined with our talent to create addictive UK Hip Hop, we honestly think The Butchers are going somewhere, we have had countless reviews from producers all the way from America, and even they are liking it, let alone in the UK! |

I think you might have some problems, simply because you're asking for a lot of skills to be offered without any real guarantees of future work or any payment. I understand the dilemma you face (you're far from alone), but I for one don't (won't) do voluntary work because it rarely works out. Exposure's one thing, bread on the table's the next and most of us (I presume) can't just dish out loads of free time for nowt. Also, there's a weird trend that happens when you work for free - others start asking (expecting) the same of you. If it helps, why not try and create something yourselves? I think quite a few people have become quite good designers because, frankly, they couldn't afford to pay for anybody else's labour. It could be a blessing in disguise. Good luck with it..! |

I think your right, I did start planning a layout in CSS for a site, I suppose I'll continue with that... At the moment, I have Dreamweaver 8, and GoLive CS2, and I use Illustrator CS2 for graphics. I don't think I'm going to want to change graphic software, but any suggestions on whether to use Dreamweaver or GoLive before I get started? |

Just gave a listen to "One Night Pussy".....it's erm different. Not the usual kinda style I listen to but hey. Interesting lyrics too. http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page...?bandID=444306 You guys look quite young and you kind of look like another Blazin' Squad (I know you'll hate me for saying that!). OG Mike - if you did all the end production on your tracks and you are as young as you look, then credit goes out to you; it's not an easy thing mastering and doing audio post-production. Try and stay level headed and never expect everything to fall in to your lap; it rarely does. Whatever you do, keep it real and don't get too big-headed over anything - if you really are that good then you'll have plenty of people creating the hype for you without you needing to do it yourself and coming across like just another t0sser. Too many d*cks in the Hip hop world as it is! Oh and I hope you get what you're after with regards to your website. - Mike |
