Salary Estimate

Could you peeps provide a salary estimate of someone with the following:

Job Title: Graphic Designer
Education: ND Graphic Design (not degree)
Work Experience: 12 months

I understand that amounts will vary due to location so if you could provide an area too.

I'm wondering how much one should be asking with the above for a Graphic Design role.

Most jobs ask for a minimum of 2 years experience I have found... so the 12 months would lessen your expectations.

Outside London, 12-15k?

All depends on your actual skills really.

Yes you could work your way up to till operator or deli.

There is still plenty to learn, if you think the company will teach you and the atmosphere is good take what you can while you only have your penis to support.

A binman can earn up to £30k, and fair play to them, thats not a nice or easy job.

If you're in the design business for the money... you're in for a nasty shock unless you go set up your own company and take all the risks.

I expect the Freelancers on this forum are earning more on average than those of us employed by an agency.

I hate that point of view. I'd much rather be on 10k as a designer, doing something i really like, with aspirations of improving my skills and inevitably getting better pay etc than work for 12k in tesco, going fucking nowhere.

Dusteh (er...) is right about not working in the design industry if you're in it for the money... I hear drugdealing is good for that though.

How is that a crock of shit?

Read the whole post. He's only talking about £2k difference now and one job has prospects in a career he wants, the other doesn't.
