domain propagation

Has anyone noticed that new domain names only take a few hours to be active. ? last year it took 48 hours ..

Yeah it does seem that is has been happening faster now, but I think it is still safe to say that all the DNS severs will be updates within 48 hours.

it still takes the annoying few hours tho. it took my site, foamyfanclub.com, 7 hours last night. but im still working out the details on what foamy cartoons ill be hosting with Johnathon Matthers.

Not me. Just set up a site for a political group - domain propogated in 15 minutes!

There was a major industry change back in November. DNS servers have been propagating in anywhere from 15 min to 48 hours. With the median on the lower end. I have seen 5 min and I have seen 24 hours. But it has improved substantially.

Yepp, Now a days it varies from 15 mins to 48 hrs to propagate domain. As far as my knowledge, there is a huge database for DNS as billions of web domains present at online world. Thus, it is very much secure and significant to take 48 hrs for propagation and to update database at all DNS servers centers.
