.com or .net...
A client of mine recently got approached by a company that obtained their company name but as a .COM. They currently have .NET. The company wants $100USD for it. I prefer .Com, but I wanted some insight from others. Thx. .com is the OG of TLDs which I think most people relate to, but since a lot of the names are already taken, .net seems to be the next alternative. Depending on the business that you are running would determine the value of the .com. If it's a money maker, then you have nothing to lose by buying the .com and moving forward. |

$100 is the kind of money you might spend on a night out with friends. The fact that $100 could secure a potentially critical business asset should make the decision a no-brainer. If the client is serious about their domain, $100 for securing the most popular TLD is still a bargain. If they need to deliberate about whether $100 for the .com is an investment worth making, then they should stop wasting their time (and yours) as they're clearly not serious about their business - which either means that they're idiots or that it's a business not worth taking seriously. |

$100 is nothing these days. Snap up the domain before they start increasing the price of it. But it also depends on the size of the company. If your client is even wondering about it I assume that they probably aren't that big of a company, because most would snap off a .com domain for that price without even thinking. |
