I would recommend getting a dedicated server with 500 GB bandwidth/mo to start. The server all depends on what language you will be developing in. PHP, .NET, Rails, etc. You should be fine with this to start and if bandwith is a problem that means there is a ton of traffic and file transferring, which is a good thing. *Stop spamming* Last edited by pgo : 29-04-2008 at 10:22. |

woah! start off with shared hosting otherwise you're going to be spending more than you're making, then migrate to [semi]dedicated when you need to; you aren't going to be getting a lot of traffic initially. you obviously don't have the knowledge (assumed from your post, not meant offensively!) to manage a dedicated box yourself so that means even greater expense… ok once the money is rolling in but until then… if you are having the site created by a third party it's yours if you pay for it, simple as that. arse holdings, made my day |

right so is what i was quoted good enough to start of with and if so when can you change your website hosting ??? cos you get into a contract and all right........ not sure and yes i lack the knowledge of this all but i have the ideas just dont understand the whole bandwith, webspace, etc some of us are less fortunate lol lol i wouldn't want the site not to be able to handle the amount of people using the site etc and all lol but thanks for the help |
