Bluehost Rant
So I'm using bluehost as my own personal server. I've had it for a year, and it works quite well for me. So I decided to recommend it to my company, as we were paying some exorbitant fees. My company wanted to ease into using them, so we started up a secondary download site on their servers in th summer. They worked no problem for a few months, so we decided to switch over our main site to their servers last night. I set up the addon domain and everybody's emails and we pointed the name servers last night. I show up to work this morning - nobody can download their email. So I check our site inaccessible. So I check our other site on the same server - also inaccessible. So I tried to log into my cpanel - inaccessible. So I tried to phone their 24/7 support - closed until 11pm their time (3pm our time - I discovered the problem at 9am our time). I dont get the point of 24/7 support if they close it. I'm choked, cause I look really bad for this. In Japan, your reputation is directly tied into your recommendations. I made the recommendation, and it has turned out to be wrong, and I can't even contact bluehost to tell them about it. That's what I get for going with the cheap server! |
