Good, bad or indifferent - what do you think?

There are assholes squatting on a .com I wanted (obviously) so I registered the .biz - worth pursuing or just mark another fiver down to experience?

The service is business related.

Trouble is if someone has the .com you can never take the brand to world dominance without the danger someone can hijack your brand and your business from under you. If you only intend it as a small scale business then possibly.

I had few .biz
The small issue was that lot of people (not we, we are internet people) are a little bit confused with this extension.
So I would recommend the old good .com even if you need to change / tune the name (unfortunately).

i'd expect something like dodgymobilephones.biz

A while ago I registered bazzle.biz

I'll use it for my portfolio site most probably when I eventually make one.

hmm .. .biz .. i cant commit on what the end users think about, being a "internet guy". But i know 1 professional commercial studio who uses it. tabularasa.biz (danish)

What is it .biz actually stands for? like;
.com = company
.org = organization
.de, .dk etc = from this country

is it .biz = slang for business? or just "random"?

If your work is based in the uk, use .co.uk, as a lot of people will choose the search uk option when searching google for uk based companies, if the .com is not available the .net is second best.

.biz is still too unusual to have much credibility.

Like .eu is suspicious as well - what are they trying to hide? .bg? .ro?
