Internic the equivalent of Nominet?

HI Guys,

Dopey question I'm sure, but as per subject is Internic the US equivalent of Nominet??

The reason i ask is I am trying to use a service in the states and they do a look up on the domain (to check it exists) using Internic. Unfortunatelly my .co.uk domains don't exist on here as if I'm correct they only have entries for .com, .net and some others but not other countries.

Anybody??

Cheers

Yep, as far as I know, that's right. Try looking for .co.uk availability on www.nic.uk
