I am designing a site from scratch for first time. I have no knowledge about better web hosting providers and what plan to choose etc., Can anyone hlep me out pls?

The website is all about entertainment. In future the client is planing to add streaming videos, audios, some flash work and hi-end graphics. He asked me for best hosting provider where the loading of the site is much faster with more uptime. This site is basically e-magazine and going to be major promotional tool for there magazine.

What is best? Dedicated server or Shared Server(Thanks, I learned the difference between two from this forum)? and which hosting provider is really good and what is the maximum space, speed and other features I need to look for incorporating all these features in the website? Any information will help. In future, I will come up with more silly questions (Thanks for sharing your knowledge guys! it really help guys like me)

There are thousands of hosts out there. Some are good, most are shit. I've had a good experience with A Small Orange (www.asmallorange.com) and have just signed up for a reseller account with Surpass (www.surpasshosting.com) - Surpass oversells (sell you more than you can reasonably use on a shared account), but seem decent altogether.

If this site is going to be streaming a lot of video, audio, Flash, large graphics (in other words, "big files") for a relatively busy site, they'll probably want to go with a VPS (Virtual Private Server) or Dedicated Server. Those ain't cheap - they'd be looking at no less than around $50/month for a VPS and $100/month for dedicated.

I would like to know how much space will streming video and this kind of site may require? Do I need dedicated server or shared server? Will shared server is enuf for this kinda site? what kind of plan do i need to select if shared server is enuf? if its just going to be flash site do I still need Dedicated server or VPS? Am I too confusing?
