Help with icon and logotype lockup

I've been asked to provide my company logo to go into a publication with other 'Official Sponsor' logos, but I'm struggling to get suitable artwork together that I'm happy with ...

My problem is that the icon and logotype were never intended to be seen together (stupid, I know) so I'm now in the position of rehashing a version of the logo that can be identifiable with the company name, rather than a meaningless icon or vice versa.

The other issue of course is that I can't stand looking at the bastard thing.

Any advice/help appreciated.

Top to bottom: Logo icon, type, combo.

I think I'd prefer it if the text were smaller and aligned to the bottom.

Just my personal preference. I think it looks ok.

Actually, I'm thinking I'll just drop the text and have the image sitting on its own.
    Lesson learned.

How important is it that people see the thing (whatever it's going in) and have a name to take away?

Well, it's the difference of knowing who the sponsor is or not. Not the end of the world.
I haven't reach Nike level of awareness with it yet.

    Another option:

    Hair product?

I would go there to get my hair cut. If I had hair.

Your choice at the end of the day, depends how much you'll value whatever exposure your logo in the publication gets.

That last option looks quite good to be fair.

Last one works well IMO. Studio and Gallant being similar in length so there's balance.

haha. You'd be amazed at how few people know how to pronounce 'Gallant'

More often than not: "Gal-aunt?" or "Gay-launt?"

Yeh, can tweak it a bit more to get a balance it out further.
Just not sure if it looks a bit too pretentious.

Where can I buy one of those cat hats?

Have you ruled out just the logotype? It makes more sense on it's own than the cat in the hat.

I'd considered it but the logotype isn't really strong enough on its own.
Have given them the choice between the cat on it's own or the single line logo+type lockup.
