Here’s a quick background. I run Ubertechnik.com – a multi-faceted site.

First, there’s Ubertechnik.com Online Race League (http://ubertechnik.com/forums/index.php?act=home )
It’s one of the largest worldwide racing leagues and has been online for ~4 years now. Lots of OTers race here, by the way.

Second, there’s Motorsport.Ubertechnik.com (http://motorsport.ubertechnik.com/index.php?act=home ).
This is a site to chronicle my track exploits and to keep track of all the work I do on my E30 M3. I may have a contest in the near future to give me a new banner for this site, not a priority at the moment though unless you are feeling generous.

Finally, there’s Solutions.Ubertechnik.com (http://solutions.ubertechnik.com ).
This is my professional consulting blog where I post useful scripts and things about my professional career.

I have RSS feeds for each site and am thinking it would be nice to have the top 5 threads from each site incorporated into the main portal page.

What I am looking for:

A fresh design for http://www.ubertechnik.com .
This is the main page for my domain although it’s rarely used because it’s ugly. There should be links to the three sites (links up at the top). The one link exception is for the Online Race League, which should link to here: http://ubertechnik.com/Ubertechnik-Welcome.htm - it's my opening Flash introduction that unionjack did for me.

Required features

• Incorporation of the three RSS feeds above (I will work on cleaning up the feeds later).
• Pleasant to the eyes with a technology/motorsport theme. I think by looking at what I have now you will get an idea. I really like the picture I use for consulting services.
• Creativity.

Note: I don't need you to do any design work (separate contest later) on any of the sites, just this static page.

In general I find this post a ridicule of good and solid design craftsmanship.

Why you won't receive many entries:

You're basically asking us to design for spec, so noone serious or who would do a good job of creating your site's identity will take time to seriously consider the design and take it through the design process.

Second, $100... yes it's a portal but at my usual rate that's about 2.5 hours, no offense but between thinking, researching, and deciding, let alone the actual design and coding, I'm not going to get it all done to a degree that I'm proud of within 2.5 hours.
