I thought you might wanna know about some cool competitions that we just launched at brickfish.com for designers. It is a great chance to get your designs seen by people in the entertainment/music industry. Prizes also include VIP tickets to Coachella.

Here are the details:

1) Design a backstage pass for Matt Costa: Design a one-of-a-kind backstage pass that captures the spirit of Matt Costa's music. Matt will handpick the winner from the top entries. Finalists are chosen by the entries that receive the top votes on the website. The winner scores an exclusive meet-and-greet with Matt and also wins 2 tixs to one of his shows. The grand prizewinner also gets a T-shirt, and two 2-day VIP tix to the 2007 Coachella Music Festival. Runner-ups score a signed CD, a T-shirt, and a "Jack Johnson and Friends, A Weekend at the Greek" DVD. Be wildly imaginative. Be incredibly innovative.

2) Design a one-of-a-kind T-shirt that depicts the lyrical spirit of Cursive and their special blend of music. The grand prize winner receives a custom T-shirt with the winning design...and a pic of the band with the winning shirt! Winner also receives 2 Cursive concert tix, a complete Cursive 4 CD set + EP, and two 2-day VIP tix to the 2007 Coachella Music Festival. Lucky runner-ups score a signed 4 CD set + the Cursive EP and a band T-shirt.
How to Enter: Submit a T-shirt logo design that captures the energy of Cursive and their distinctively melodical music with its surprising gospel rhythms, blues, and grooves.

How to Enter: Design an out-of-this-world album cover that is worthy of the quartet’s singularly smashing styling of indie-rock, pop, and emo. Create a cover that conveys the essence that is This Providence! Make it beyond vivid. Make it more than meaningful. Make it ridiculously unique.

Could be fun but.. besides the recognition.. someone groupie enough to even bother doing this? I cant see a reason why a serious designer ever would consider doing anything for a signed cd or a meeting with Matt Costa. Unless your name is Lisa and are 14 years old ofcourse.
