new competition suggestions
we've not had a dt comp it seems, for a while. i'm sure oli can dig up some prizes. failing that, i can offer a moudly potatoe. how about: 'make a a 'thing' for the submit-post-thanks page' - no other rules other suggestions please. it's all good fun. |

that's quite a nice idea!! it would be nice if there was more than one 'thing' and if it was on random! you'll get a different 'thankyou' every time! would make the whole experience quite unique! but there should be e filesize restriction I guess... - you don't wanna wait for too long (i'm in a positive mood tonight ...

not sure exatcly how the backend works. maybe we could have another option in the profile to select low or high bandwidth - then we can deliver different files to different users? oli? then again, coming up with somthing that's gonna be less than 10kb in size is a nice challenge too. |

Well, if it's backend work, it shouldn't be too strenuous on the users bandwidth should it? I mean, I know that if it's done in PHP, a random image could be shown using one or two lines! That is if you are thinking the same thing I am thinking... otherwise, I'm sure I look like an idiot at the moment! How much longer before you click on my link?

brilliant, you look like an idiot! or maybe i wasn't clear enough. i meant storing extra variables in the user profile so the 'site' could serve an appropriate 'thing' depending on the 'profile saved bandwidth stored choice'. the thanks page is only there for a second or so. knowing that some people are on high speed links means we can have larger files served to these people. |

@Brown... I get what you mean now man... sorry about that... I'm not on a really high speed connection, and I never am, so I wouldn't know what it's like. Thanks for having such an open mind. How much longer before you click on my link?
