I think BlueSteel is suggesting that stacking shelves in a supermarket is a good way to earn some cash

Hey! I worked those jobs. Guess that makes me a shithole. When I was 14 I delivered newspapers for $100/month.

Damn kids these days. Always...wanting...more than they are qualified for/deserve.

Good luck getting someone to hire you as a designer at 14.

Haha!

Your first job isn't going to be a career. Period. Most people don't move into a career until their mid to late 20s or early 30s. If you need money, get a job for which you're qualified.

I've graduated college and haven't even firmly decided on a career path. Most likely moving from the fine arts to design (while retaining fine art on the side), but I've also thought about going to law school or getting a second degree in CompSci or something.

Don't know where you live, but if you're in the US, you might consider not trying to start a business since it's technically illegal to officially employ people under the age of 16.
Since you can't even get a job at McDonalds, then you should just start delivering newspapers or mowing lawns. Use that money to buy software and books and everything you need to develop your skills.

Design websites, logos, flyers anything you can for your Friends, local bands, your school whatever, for free. In a few years time you might just have enough talent to charge people.

Great idea. That's where I am. Working in IT for the easy job and the money and living at home - for even more money. Learning the trade on the side.

Also - I said this in another thread - know the difference between art and design - because there's a significant difference. Get the software and learn it. Learn how to write good code. And do pro-bono projects - or do personal projects. Make a site for yourself. Make several.

Since you are concerned about spelling here are just a few of your own errors within this very thread:

noway = no way

gonna = going to

havent = haven't

alot = a lot

im = I'm
