I think it's a little bit above average. For the same price you can get a php/database driven website (yet done with tables and with poor design). However it does scare many possible clients off, who just prefer even cheaper websites

thats where the "designer" part of "web designer" fits in. Invent a design suitable for the client and build it, thats what they WANT to PAY you for.

tsk, programmers, honestly.

That's called form without function.

Think you got the wrong end of Dusteh's stick Hawken

The content is not design, not style, not look & feel.. or whatever you want to call it. It is the copy, the text, the literature. The stuff that turns up in Google... the most important part of any webpage.

Dusteh. I can totally sympathise with you there. It's like getting blood out of a stone. I Set out this as my most important requirement when talking to a client - I make it VERY clear that they provide me with copy. I send them a Doc we use to educate the layman about web content writing, content and Search Engines. It's actually very effective save one or two who repeatedly choose to lose/ignore it..

Can't be that hard to find out what the function of site is, it's not like you are handed a can of cat food and asked to create "something".

Form follows function, but you can still design a site without content, so long as you have a rough idea of what it might be. This sort of complaining is just obnoxious time wasting, mommy isn't going to hold your hand, just build the site.

Best not to post after you've been down the pub, especially when you end up calling stangers "cock"

You're right. Your website says it all.

I used to get handed a CD and told to make a website in a week, no more content would be provided.

So the first step was to scan in the CD jacket...

No joke.

Cheshire, I'll meet you after school!

I am usually happy to share my knowledge, but I broke my back writing this one (10 revisions!). Nothing personal

Worked fine for me. Try re-downloading it. Maybe it's your firewall/AV messing with it.
