Loan agreements

I've been staying in LA for 3 months.

I have a "friend" staying with me, who doesn’t earn any money, so I've been helping him out financially. The sum of money is climbing steadily and now is at £1000+.

His behaviour has been worrying me, in the sense that he's crazy; he mentions things like going on holiday again with his mates when he gets back to England. This obviously knocks my confidence in him paying back the money in full.

So my sister suggested writing a contract, so that in the event he doesn't pay back I can take him to a small claims court.

Does anyone know where I can find a free loan template for such a scenario? I've been searching all day to no avail.

While he's out, nick his passport and hold it to ransom. Say you sent it off because you're changing his name to 'Jeeves' and force the lazy git to work it off by being your butler.

lol, sounds like a plan.

Need something a little more "official" with some legal credability tho.

Why "friend" and not friend? You've been there 3 months - is this how long you've known him? If so, I'd agree with Mike and hide his passport for the time being. Try and get the money back and then 'find it'.

Who knows; if he's desperate to get back to blighty you could always charge him £1000+ to get him a copy passport almost identical to the original...

You should tell your friend to get his ass streetside and bring you your money.

Be assured that while pimping can never be ethically or morally correct it can be lucrative...and if you apply the right pressure you'll have him earning in no time

Just get him to promise he will give you all that he owes you in good time in front of someone who is impartial like a friend he has never met - the verbal contract should be enough!
