Project Managment

hello all ...i'm new to this form. i own an established web design company working with entertainment clients...we have trouble managing projects and can't afford to hire someone full time to do it.... i'm looking for an online ...possibly open source solution to help me and my 5 inhouse developers work in sync with clients.. . i think our problem is something alot of web development firms experiance....

I'd say take a hard look at Basecamp like Oli suggested. If it doesn't fit your needs, you could always try some of the god-awful "groupware" CMSes over at www.opensourcecms.com

A free one: Trac. http://trac.edgewall.org/

It's not a hosted service so you'll need to install it on a linux box which has python, clearsilver, DB and web server, blah blah blah, but if you've got those installed already I'd give it a go. Once installed your team accesses it via the web, so it's online in that sense.

I've used it and it's good for tracking issues alongside development (design?) work. Not sure what more advanced project management stuff it can do.

I don't know any free hosted ones - for the software development effort required I doubt anyone wants to take the risk on whether money can be made via ads.

Hmm, works well enough but the free account is very limited.
