I tend to use the phrase 'gibbering cockney chimps' which is a side effect of living in the mighty south-east. I don't want to start a debate about the merits of any particular region, but we used to live in Oxford for a good few years and found things & people to be cool. We then moved to Bucks and discovered that racism thrives, a parking space is someone elses castle and ignorance is not a state of bliss but a condition of residence. I'm off home to Wales soon so I say fack the facking lot of 'em, bunch of cants. As for the debate, I don't do backend (unless I really have to) and I don't plan on learning while I have a bunch of folks to call on who are considerably better at it than I'll ever be. Tools include the usual adobe/macromedia suspects and a strong constitution. Bill - obb sends his love. He says it's great to see you back in action, making friends and influencing people. Don't get sand on your ice cream...

I class myself as both, do all the coding and designing on my own. Just the way I've learnt really. I can't ever imagine someone coding a site that I've designed, or designing a site that someone else has coded. I can imagine getting very territorial with my work if that was ever the case. For coders and designers that work alongside each other, I can imagine their working relationship being very stretched especially if they have different views or ideas etc. I actually turned a part time job down when I was about 15 because I would have only been designing and not coding. I like to do all the work myself, knowing that it's done properly, knowing my way around it and that it's all my idea. What's it actually like sharing a project with someone else? Do you get many disagreements or varied ideas etc? |

It really is good of you to track down aged threads and impart your insight and wisdom upon them. It is in fact shocking that these threads ever existed without your valuable contributions. It's actually surprising that this very forum existed so long without you. As we welcome you aboard please accept a heartfelt thanks from all at DT for finally enlightening us! |
