I'm full time. I was really dreading becoming part of "the rat race" but I've got to say it's easy! Even if you're working extra hours, you still get that Friday night feeling, and weekends, and you're pretty sure of what you'll be up to in future weeks. Whereas when I was doing bar work I had no idea what hours I'd be working from one week to the next.

Been Freelance for about 8mths, currently on a six month contract in house so it's pretty much like full time employment (except I invoice the boss and have to work at the weekends to tie up loose ends from before)

That would be me then.

I pay the mortgage by being Abbey National's part-time biatch. I'd love to be able to get a few extra design jobs and quit but I can't seem to get of my arse. Maybe this year.

I worked full time , got a bit sick of it, started freelancing, missed the friday feeling, regular wages and contact with other people :: working fulltime again now.

i'm the one who voted part-time but like mik, i do freelance work, and i employ myself and others on a per job basis, few small contract too but as long as they don't want me for five days a week. havn't worked a five day week in about 5 years. don't think i could ever go back to that...

i went out on my own about a year ago, now im getting lonely, miss the contact with people and the structured hours. i dont miss the office politics or the abuse from clients though.

before then i worked fulltime for telstra (mobiles) and telstra bigpond (tech support).... those are 5 years of my life i wont be getting back.

i prefer working full time within a large company as you know you'll be paid at the end of each month. you also get to speak to people each day, unlike being a freelancer where i was approaching captain caveman status...

also do small freelance oddjobs in evenings but it can often be more hassle than it's worth.
