Turning work down.

I've just turned down a bit of work for the first time in a fair while and the clients gone into an absolute RAGE!

I can't believe it, makes me feel like I have to take everything on but I just can't be bothered anymore with these ridiculous long ass days.

I know how you feel, it's a fine line between wanting to give good customer service and paying the bills, yet have a life. This time of year as well, everyone wants a rush before xmas..

I'm having trouble keeping on top of everything aswel. I seem to be replacing something extra with work each week now. Soon I will be working 18hrs a day.

Accept the new job but tell him to you need to settle the bill first. You could also increase your rates to outsource the next project if you're overloaded.

I'm not worried about him paying. I just thought it was cheeky to be demanding all this extra work when he's not paid for the last lot.

I've passed it on now anyway.

Does that mean that you gave the project to another designer? I find that's the best way to keep a client happy -- that way, at least if they can't get you, they're not stuck.
