How much would you charge arsehole clients?
Right, I've spent months on a complete in-house re-brand only to have just had all my concepts thrown out by a bunch of wanker accountants and bank managers. They now want to go to an outside agency. I want to make the point that it would cost them shitloads more than paying me, and since figures and statistics are the only things they understand, how much would you charge? |

I sympathise with you, I've been there. Being an in-house designer usually means you are taken for granted and the assumption is that the grass is greener on the other side. If they don't like your designs then you should probably just leave it. Sounds like they want to spend some money to satisfy their egos. Tossers. |

Thanks for your thoughts guys Quote:
Cheers. The work I've already done has been approved by half a dozen different panels consisting of former chief designers for Ford and marketing execs, but you do have a point. At the end of the day if they don't like it that's their choice, I'll let them pay someone fifteen times my salary for a few concepts |

There will always be people with different opinions on design, desicions on brand design in a company should ultimately be the responsibility of one person, this is the person you need to work with - everybody elses opinions on it are worthless - this guy probably has a preferred designer in an outside agency or beleives that in-house design is worth less than agency design (a lot of people in business judge how good design is by cost not aesthetics). Arrange a meeting with the person responsible for the re-design and talk to him about your concerns instead of trying to find sneaky persuasion tactics on forums |

I'd love to, but at the moment we're not even allowed to show it to the office staff. Got another meeting today, so I'll see what they say. |
