I just finished school and am designing my first website (paid) for an artist. I was thinking of charging her $200 for the website, but I want some opinions on whether that is too high or too low. She was going to go to a business in town, but they gave her a estimate of around $1200 and extra fees everytime she wants to add a new item for sale. Or $1500 and they would make it so that she could add in the new items herself. She thought that was too expensive, so she asked me to help her.
She doesn't know anything about website design so I am putting the site up for her and maintaining it for her. Should I charge a small amount each month to update and maintain the website? I was thinking $10 or $20.
Or should I charge a higher price for the website and then just continue to maintain it for no extra cost?
I need some opinions on this.
