Ive been there and done that... at the end of the day, the only person who actually gives a shit about design is me... if its presentable to everyone else then they're happy - thats how it is.
Me pointing out bad typography, page layout, non-existent colour scheme wont matter - only I see that - they just see a catalogue with images and prices, the placement and spacing of everything doesn't come into it.
There is only me for design, I also have to do the copy and photography so Im fighting a losing battle as it is.
Last year though I had exceptional feedback from some of our biggest clients about my work, I had a few layouts sorted for this one which initially got passed off and all happy with. For some reason the powers that be have a bee in their bonnet about using the foreign layout and they are adamant about it... there is absolutely no point me fighting about it.
Its a massive backward step, especially for me (or for any designer) and I'm royally pissed off the more I think about it.... Ive now got the next couple of months of soul destroying, zero job satisfaction of a catalogue to put together.
