I've never had to change any of these settings before..
I have the following DNS settings that i was asked to change to.
ns1.dreamhost.com 66.33.206.206
ns2.dreamhost.com 66.201.54.66
ns3.dreamhost.com 66.33.216.216
The domain is currently with yahoo and i want to transfer it over to dreamhost.
Yahoo have three things,
A (address) and CNAME Records
MX Records
NameServers
Currently they say
A: Yahoo IP
A: Yahoo IP
CNAME: Yahoo Hostname
CNAME: Yahoo Hostname
When I tried to change all of the above only one was changing.
MX Records - to do with mail right? this stays as it is.
NameServers
3 of them primary, secondary n summit else....these have been changed to
ns1.dreamhost.com
ns2.dreamhost.com
ns3.dreamhost.com
Hasn't been a full 24hrs yet but the site is still down and hasnt transfered over.
Am i doing this right, or have i screwed it all up. Any pointers please.
