Don't know much about Leeds but my advice is to choose one that has an industry option - you generally won't get looked at if you don't have experience no matter what grades or uni you've been to. You'll also learn alot from the people on your course and around you so try and pick somewhere you'll take inspiration from and are comfortable with. In terms of illustration/photoshop skills etc. I've generally found that once you've got the basics you can pick the rest up as you go along, and if you don't like the uni you pick, build up a decent portfolio in the first year and use your credits to transfer in the second.
