My name is Daniel. This is my story...
This is my first proper post here and frankly I'm... terrified... which is a healthy indication of the respect I have for the work I've seen posted here. Oh yes.
I work as a one-man new media department for a small post-production company, based in beautifully converted 18th century farm buildings just outside NW London. It's a lovely, peaceful work environment, and we're respected in the industry, but one of our main problems is persuading clients to travel out to us. It's a lot easier just to get the tube to Soho, and there are nicer women there.
The style of our publicity material tends to use the rustic angle a lot, which makes us seem about as cutting-edge as a 300 year old scythe... and I'm mostly to blame cuz I love using photos of the olde worlde shite around this place.
So generally I'm trying to come up with ideas for a whole new identity for the company. This afternoon.
...but this morning, I'm just trying to design a new cd-case. I've got 2 rough directions here:
The first one goes with the idea that it's good for your health to work here - there's fresh air and lots of space and all that [yawn]:

The second idea I'm embarassed about now I've realised how cliched it is, but I was thinking it's kind of feng-shui-ey here, and I thought of japanese craftsmen and anyway....

I'd appreciate any reactions to the direction, as much as about the actual design.
cheers! dAN
