Textures were going to be similar or inspired by a dodge charger but my trial ran out. Heard you can get 3dmax free as a student. takes up soo much time though. ![]() All 3ds max and vray. |

I'd say a couple of years. maybe 3, but only tinkering in the beginning. I use it daily now on projects and when I'm designing style frames I try to incorporate 3D in some way. cheers - was learning quite a bit, so figured it would be helpful to compile them all. It's actually helped me a lot for getting jobs. here are some 3D styleframes I did a few months ago for the dubiously titled show VROOM. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() for the cinema people: I started with a black shiny cube and cloned it into a grid. added some effectors with falloff to randomize certain sections. Put the camera right in the middle of this shiny cube world as a start, then added some more very simple geo like pipes and stuff. The 'screens' with cars are just that - cloned flat plains with a material (photos) on them. I found that because my main black material was so reflective, it created this feeling of dense, more complicated-than-it-actually-is environment. |

Do it! It's not a competition, otherwise I'd never post any of my crap! I gave up trying to achieve photo realism years ago. I found it too hard. But, still, the stuff I do serves a purpose and just needs to get the idea across. The 3d acts as a supplement to the accompanying technical construction drawings. |

This is some stuff I did for Gorilla. It's one of my first actual non-abstract models that I've done so it's nothing complicated. Keep in mind, I did not do the label. They're a new client of ours and they needed some 3D done of the cans. Up until this point, they've been using some pretty bad photography so modeling these in 3D will be very helpful moving forward. Done in Cinema4D. |
