First off, welcome Sarah.

A female presence here is refreshing. It's quite a "sausage fest" most of the time.
OK, on to your question...you are talking about
http://www.loveweddings.co.uk/, right?
For my reply, I'll focus on Google and what I've found is a very important factor in the method to their madness: Page Rank. Your site has a page rank of 4/10 which is not bad at all. In fact, it's a great start. They know you're there, and that's something. Page rank is used by Google to determine your site/page's importance...and for specific searches which your site may be optimized for, you'll rank higher than sites with 3/10 and lower (usually) and lower than sites with 5/10 and higher (usually). I recommend you download the
Google toolbar (if you haven't already), so you can monitor your page rank. Hopefully, this will start to help you stop banging your head for the wrong reasons...and get back to banging it only when the right music is playing.
One thing I suggest you try that will help with your page rank is to get sites to link to you. If you dig deep into Google, they pretty much come right out and say it
here:
PageRank performs an objective measurement of the importance of web pages by solving an equation of more than 500 million variables and 2 billion terms. Instead of counting direct links, PageRank interprets a link from Page A to Page B as a vote for Page B by Page A. PageRank then assesses a page's importance by the number of votes it receives.
PageRank also considers the importance of each page that casts a vote, as votes from some pages are considered to have greater value, thus giving the linked page greater value. Important pages receive a higher PageRank and appear at the top of the search results. Google's technology uses the collective intelligence of the web to determine a page's importance. There is no human involvement or manipulation of results, which is why users have come to trust Google as a source of objective information untainted by paid placement.
So, in other words, don't just go out and get a bunch of low Page Ranked sites linking to you if you want to increase your Google ranking. Visit a site, use the Google toolbar to determine if it's worth getting them to link to yours, and if they do, reciprocate so you help them in turn.
When I used the Google toolbar to links to your site, I found that
http://www.uktiaras.co.uk/ only. They have a page rank of 5/10, so that's a worthwhile link. There may be other sites linking to you, but this is the only site that Google has spidered and knows is linking to you. If you could get other sites with 5,6, & 7 out of 10 to link to you, you'll see your page rank increase in turn.
I'm sure you can find your own way around title & meta tags and a good first paragraph of optimized text to match your title & metas, etc., but you can find that by Googling searches for SEO. I just wanted to give you some insight into another factor that plays on important role for Google searches and helping your ranking. Feel free to PM if you have any questions...
