i was offering to do web sites for free, in order for me to build my portfolio. However the clients wanted to pay me money when they seen the sites, so whos to argue with that :p
P.S. if your wanting to build your portfolio and are finding it hard to get clients, make some up like 'Jim's tyre fire' or 'Zodiac Video'. Just a quick and simple way to build a portfolio up showing your skills
