I like the abstract work you have as the main image, unfortunately you portfolio is not as strong. If I were you (speaking from a 3d and web background) only show your strongest bits of work.
In your case that would be your new stuff. The character work isn't very strong and weighs down the good stuff. My advice would be to remove 90% of the portfolio and concentrate on filling it with more abstract and architectural works while practicing your character work behind closed doors.
