as always i'm fashionably late in my response in a topic already considered a past fad but here goes.
once i was in this webiste for an art collective and we decided to do guerilla marketing.
1-we screenprinted 200 posters on pink fushia paper with our website address and pasted the entire 200 on a single street corner in montreal.
2-we got 6000 buisness cards printed and whenever one of us would go travelling we would leave some wherever in the most absurd places (cabinets of airplane toilets, on cinema chairs, in pockets of clothing in clothing stores) . it's like marking your own territory but without the urine and much more socially acceptable.
3-having website launch events works well too depending on the type of website. we'd usually have a repetitive dj who would go well with our repetitive personalities and repetitive website. after that you're considered all artsy and suave even if you're a sad ripoff of abbie hoffman's political actions of the late sixties.
