I don't get too detailed because they may see something else that in their brain works better than my explanation...kinda like seeing a Harry Potter movie before reading the book - the characters will always look in your head like how you first see them unless you read the book and imagine it first.

I would do subtle explanations like why you chose this style or color over that, what made you decide to play with text rather than a mark, etc.
