At my work we use fontagent pro, but that's cause it's easy to keep up to date in a big studio with multiple macs.
Before that we used fontbook but I haven't had much experience with that.
Personally I'm still trying to figure out why in the world there's font management software to begin with.. just drag it into the fonts folder!
