Actually, anything by Panic is worth checking out.

I'm quite partial to the MySQL prefs pane installed as part of the ServerLogistics MySQL installation package
Makes installing MySQL and switching it on and off a doddle.

I use Symantec/Norton Anti-Virus and Personal Firewall both of which are commercial products. Can't remember the last time I even received an infected file (as you'll be aware, macs enoy a certain degree of natural immunity from virii attacks).

It's probably worth coughing up for a commercial app when it comes to anti-virus and software firewall.
I wouldn't leave such things to a freeware/shareware developer with little or no development budget.
