Oh i know... Thats why I said "Noone in their right mind..."!

I've worked on projects before where I've had idiots above me in the chain of command making decisions that basically necessitate the use of javascript to make the site work... Every time I try to fight against it, explaining that its a horrible idea, siting various pieces of research etc, and every time (almost) i got ignored. Sometimes you just have to swallow your pride (and your principles) and go ahead and do it.

That being said, I know guys that would just have done it without any argument, even though they know better... To me, its your responsibility to at least try and educate your client, be that internal or external... You'll probably find that half the places built like that are done by people who know better but dont bother to fight to do things the right way, and the other half are done by people who are just a bit shit at their jobs.
