[quote:c0c7f5598e="octane"]Everybody on the Cre@teOnline forum used to slate Hillman Curtis. Is it worth getting then?[/quote:c0c7f5598e]

That's because his "corporate" site is about as accessible as Osama Bin Laden's bedroom!

I think some of the vitriol (from myself amongst others) was a factor of his perceived status as a "web design guru" when a lot of his "web" work is uninspiring, inaccessible, and derivative.

His motion graphics work, on the other hand, is often very innovative and exciting.

Unfortunately for Mr Curtis' standing within our particular clique / bitchy design enclave, the majority of people here-abouts are more interested in the day-to-day reality of being a much less famous web designer and creating interesting and functional web pieces on a significantly more pedestrian budget, rather than indulgent and expensive mega-corporate motion or advertising work, and therefore Mr Curtis has little relevance, whereas the likes of Messers Zeldman, Meyer, and (dare I even utter it) Nielsen may have a little more currency.

Just my 2p as usual...
