I'm not being funny here proc, but the competition is open to 5 year olds and up... When you were 5, wouldn't you have been happy with all that money in vouchers etc? How many parents would let their kids have that kind of money? None, in their right minds... And as has been said above... Any prize is better than none, and getting new ideas for game design from the kids that are playing them can only encourage kids to look into it as a career... Which is no bad thing, either.
