CRTs cause eye fatigue as the OP said. Or at least they can give you headaches.

I recommend the Dell flat panels. The 2007WFP is great and around $350 but they also have the budget one, the E207WFP, which is $100 less and has the same resolution. But I have yet to try it.

Frankly the 20.1" Dell is the same as the 20.1" Apple. In fact they use the same LCD panel. So I'd go for whichever is cheaper, in this case the Dell.

I'd hold off on buying a Dell monitor right now until after CES is over (the 11th I think) because I'm guessing Dell will probably either release another size or a budget 24" LCD.

UPDATE:
Yeah I know, I'm a genius. 22" Widescreen Monitor for $296 from Dell.

They also released a 27" monitor which is strangely more expensive than their 30". I guess they're new panel sizes and more expensive to produce right now.
