I generally charge 50 pounds per hour.

Plan it out in MS project (or any other project planning pakcage) before giving them a price, then email them a quote as a PDF.

If they're a little unsure about the price, then I give them 10% maybe 15% discount, usually no more though or they'll take you for a ride.
