what the bloke was saying was that you write them something called a "boomerang letter" that is tailored to the job description and is written in a way that makes them wanna reply. i'm not the best person in the world at describing what he says but another point he makes is that a cv has more effect if you give it to them after an interview rather than before, and just let the letter do the talking.

i've probably made his book sound crap now but honestly it is a good book: bloody easy to read and really insightful

btw, Ostrich, if you are on the dole then you can sign onto LearnDirect courses for free (if you didn't already know that is). i did that and learned XML and stuff while the job centre paid me for it, which is nice
