What are you trying to do with the video?

Why are you importing it into flash, so you can play it back without using other plugins? or because you've a flash based site you need it to play in? if either of these...

Best bet is to convert the video to an FLV file. Then use flashes video component to play it back. You can convert to FLV using a load of different edditing software but the simplest is a copy of quicktime pro and the Flash Video Exporter.

Size is still an issue but you can then manage a progressive download / streaming file (if you have the tech available) to soften the blow.
