stands with spike in the bottom (surprisingly enough), which gives the speaker a better contact with the ground it's on. less vibration, better sound.
fucking hifi gimps. I knew a lad who stole a load of paving stones and put them in his room to put his speakers on top. He measured the gap between the wall and the back of the speaker to get it just right and would go frantic if you moved the speakers.
Then there's one of these hifi gimps who had concrete columns protruding from the house foundations into his hifi room to mount his speakers on. I suppose everyone needs a hobby. Mine's wanking.
