Thanks for the further replies. I've done a bit of scouting around in shops and online and have found huge differences in price between Wacom and 'other makes'. For A4 and bigger, Wacom just goes through the roof whereas the others seem very reasonable.

There is a German Electronics chain that have some good offers on 'other' stuff. I tried direct linking but it won't have it, so if you got time and patience go to Conrad

Then click the German flag and choose 'privatkunden' (private customers) and do a search for 'grafik tablette'. The 3 results are obviously in German but seem to be good value when looking at the specs. By the way, the English version only brings up 1 product.
