Although I would normally disapprove of ImageReady generated layouts, since you're at the beginning, I think it's ok to play with them for a while, just as long as you keep in mind, the output code is bad. Basically use the slice tool to draw a grid in photoshop and hit save as webpage... The rest is basically self-explanatory. Open the generated file with dreamweaver and play with its source.

Remember, THIS PRACTICE IS BAD, even if for the common visitor there is basically no noticeable difference.
